NEW ACTING class offered by LACER!!!Students, walk in the shoes of the actor. Each participant engages in acting exercises and improvisations, including monologues and two-person scenes provided and assigned by Cynthia Barker. This is the heart of the workshop. This class allows actors, directors, and writers into greater intimacy with characters and storytelling. In this class we will explore a range of principles, tools and techniques that can be employed in communicating with actors — addressing issues that arise in casting, rehearsal, shooting and preparation (script analysis).

Please wear comfortable clothes for movement and acting exercises.

All students interested in taking the class must register in room 603.

Meeting in room 506 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We meet first in the cafeteria.

NEW ART class! If you want to develop new skills, hone your body of work to pursue in any art or design field. Join the Art and Expression class with Álvaro Daniel Márquez, M.A. graduate from USC. Confidence and skill are developed through weekly exercises and in class group projects. Students will create a portfolio from work produced through the course of study. The instructor provides individualized critique regarding technical and conceptual development and offers guidance for developing an effective portfolio. The class will conclude with a showcase gallery created by the students.

Meeting in the cafeteria on Mondays and Fridays after school. For more information come to LACER room 603.

Welcome Back Hollywood High! L.A.C.E.R. Afterschool Programs will begin August 16th, 2016, right after school. Come register in the cafeteria, room 603.
Students can participate in Academic Tutoring, Marching Band, Dance Guard, Hollywood Live (rock band), Acting, College and Career Prep, Recording & Production, Acapella, Art and Basketball. All services are all FREE to the students and take place on campus, along with FREE snacks in the cafeteria. All students must be registered with LACER. Students, look for your name on the bulletin board in the main building or in the quad to see your first period class. Your first period teacher will give you your full schedule. Write your schedule down including teacher and room number so you have a copy. Student program change requests will be available starting on Wednesday, August 17 from your first period teacher.

Some of you may have received a letter indicating summer school ends on July 22nd. This unfortunately is an error. Please note that summer school will end on Friday, July 29th, 2016. Students are expected to attend everyday and complete their assignments, tests, finals, or projects for their classes.

All new students/families are welcome to our New Student Orientation night, Thursday, July 28th at 5:30pm in the school's auditorium.
